Handmade To Sell!

I just got my copy of Handmade To Sell, a fun and comprehensive guide for would-be crafty entrepreneurs, published by Potter Craft.  I illustrated the cover, as well as about 70 small interior spots. It was a fun project, as I enjoy working in this more graphic style. And I could not be in better company. Kelly Rand was great to work with, and the other writers and contributors at Hello Craft (Christine Ernest, Sara Dick, and Kimberly Dorn) are also awesome people who really know their stuff. You can also find more of my illustrations hanging out at the Hello Craft website.

Pokemon Battle Royale at Light Grey Gallery

Here's an image I just finished, created with graphite and cut paper for the Pokemon Battle Royale show at Light Grey Gallery. My chosen Pokemon was Jynx, because she is the only humanoid in the bunch, and I wanted to make her into one of my warrior girls. The light blue necklace is in reference to her connection with ice, and the chrystal ball is a nod to her psychic abilities. It was a fun little piece to obsessively render. She's quite small (about 4' tall) and I cut the color from paper, collaged it on, and drew the image on top.

This will be a fun show with some super-talented folks involved. To see all the artists who are a part of the project and find more information about the gallery, click on over to the show web page.

Studio Tour

Even though I've lived in my Baltimore row house for three-and-a-half years, I JUST managed to get some of the awesome prints and original artwork I've collected over the years onto my studio walls. And there is more to come - I still have some favorite pieces for which to find space. You'll be able to see more pictures of where I work by clicking "Studio Tour" in the "About" section of my new website when it goes live!

Announcing my Show at Gallery Nucleus in May!

I am excited to be drawing for my solo Gallery Nucleus show in May. I've been playing around with small pieces of cut paper and drawing on top, and liking the result. I'll be focusing on drawings for the show and have a bunch more portraits and a few intricate scenes planned. I am also playing around with some laser-cutting. See the write-up and find out more about my favorite gallery by clicking HERE.
